I`m not sure whats going on with FRYE... the last two pair of shoes I purchased from them have fit differently on my feet. The left foot seems to fit perfectly, while the right is a bit tight. I have not had this issue with any other shoes I have purchased recently included a pair of Nike sneakers and Rockports. Also, both right shoes from my previous FRYE purchases do not seem to have a smooth ride. They almost feel like there is something in them like a lump. Unfortunately, this latest pair, the Oxford seems to not only have a lump in the right shoe but the shoe squeaks as well. I originally thought the shoes needed to be broken in but the left shoe never had any issues. After a week of wearing these shoes, I must sadly return them. They shoes look great, but only the left shoe feels great, and they are clearly well made but the right foot is so uncomfortable, I cannot walk in them. For these reasons, I must give FRYE 3 stars. They have not proven to be a consistent manufacturer and the fact that not all their shoes are made in the US is a downer. This is my second pair of FRYEs that have been disappointing so I may be looking elsewhere for an everyday black oxford...The shoes are amazing. They are a steal at the current price (~$90). I tried a few other similar pricing oxfords before slipping these on and the quality difference is night and day. Leather is thick and beautiful. 360 goodyear welt. Thick stitches etc. However, they dont fit me well. I usually wear 8.5 and ordered 8.5 in these but they are just too long. The width on the other hand is pretty narrow. It it pretty slim from the height of the shoe box stand point. The sole is beautiful but its leather so it is very slippery on my carpet. As my company uses carpet, it will also be an issue. In overall, amazing quality and look but I'm sad to say it is not for me.Initial review - 7/5/185/5.I got these to replace my daily work shoes. I walk about 2-3 miles, five times a week, in my work shoes. Sometimes I ride a motorcycle, so my shoes take a pretty good beating. These are perfect so far. I will likely have to re-sole once the leather wears out (Seattle rain), and replace with rubber. I am fine with this. I spend a little more on my shoes because I plan on wearing them for a few years.I got the Jones Oxford, Redwood, in 11 Medium ( I wear 44 EU, and have 11 inch foot [heal to toe]), and fit me well (if not a tiny bit too big).Made in Mexico. Will update.Pros - Excellent Leather, really nice fit, very comfortable, high quality.Con - None at the moment.I love the look and overall quality of this boot. I really want to purchase this boot so I keep buying a half size down until I find the right fit. I normally wear 9 but they were way too big. I’m on my third try with a size 8. Crossing my fingers they fit.The picture and description for the Black Oxford is for a lug sole. These were delivered with a leather sole. Looked like a well made shoe but not what I ordered. I returned them.genuine leather sole was a little slippy, good looking. The shape of the shoe and material are excellent. Frye should develop a non slip sole, it`s importan to improve it. The fit is no 100% ok, it `s a little large. But after all, they are a great part of shoes, good job Frye, but keep on research and develop.Works perfectly as a better substitute for the terrible Bates Lites Navy uniform shoe. Do wish it came in different widths.
